Ten years ago one of the best things ever happened to me. I got to take home a precious furbaby from your cattery. Oreo (black and white bi color) was a Lelani/Simba baby. This sweet little man grew into a georgeous cat with the most wonderful loving nature of any cat I have ever had. I am so glad we found your wonderful cattery and always think of you on his birthday. Thank you for breeding beautiful loving well socialized kitties. Oreo is my constant companion and the reason I smile every day.

HI, DARLENE,
FIRST OF ALL, I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR CARING AND HARD WORK WITH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL KITTENS THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. THANK YOU FOR THE PICTURES THAT YOU SENT. I USUALLY DON'T TAKE THIS LONG TO SAY THANKS, BUT I HAVE BEEN SO BUSY, AND I COULD NOT FIND YOUR PHONE NUMBER UNTIL I GOT INTO THE E-MAIL.
WELL THE KITTY IS DOING JUST FINE, HE IS VERY HANDSOME AND NOW I KNOW WHY YOU CALLED HIM FLASH. HE HAS THE FASTEST LITTLE LEGS ON A CAT. HE RUNS FROM ONE END OF THE ROOM TO THE OTHER. HIS HAIR IS DOING JUST FINE, IT HAS GROWN OUT HE LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE POLAR BEAR.
WE LOVE HIM SO MUCH HE IS A VERY GOOD KITTY. HE HAS BROUGHT SO MUCH RELAXATION TO BY BRAIN AFTER DEALING WITH A WORK DAY. HEATHER TAKES CARE OF HIM AS THOUGH HE WAS A REAL BABY. SHE LOVES HIM SO MUCH TOO. I WILL SEND YOU A PICTURE OF HIM, SINCE I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PUT IT ON E-MAIL BUT IF I FIGURE IT OUT I'LL SEND IT THROUGH EMAIL
I HOPE YOU ARE DOING FINE AND HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO YOUR HUSBAND. WHAT KITTY IS GOING TO BE BRED NEXT? MY SISTER-IN-LAW WANTS A KITTY, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND. I KNOW AFTER SHE SEES SIMBA JR. SHE WILL WANT ONE LIKE HIM. I'LL KEEP YOU INFORMED. WELL TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, AND I ENJOYED SEEING OUR PICTURE ON THE WEB.
KEEP IN TOUCH. IT WAS A PLEASURE DEALING WITH YOU, I KNOW IF I DECIDE TO GET ANOTHER KITTY I WILL FROM YOU. ROCKY MY OTHER CAT IS STILL TRYING TO GET USED TO THE LITTLE ONE, I GIVE HIM TIME SINCE HE IS SO SPOILED.

Hi Darlene,

I thought I would send you an e-mail on the 1st birthday of Sasha and Zoe, the 2 adorable kittens we purchased from you last October. My husband, Alan, and I both are absolutely crazy about these 2 kittens!! They are the sweetest, most precious little things!! We had no idea that we would love them like we do!! They are such good girls, and funny, and so playful. It has been a wonderful experience having them join our family.

Hi: We are still loving Charlie and Bailey. You won't believe how loveable Bailey is and now Charlie is getting to be quite shy and won't go to people but that's ok with us. I never believed we could love them so much and get so much enjoyment from them. All of our friends come by to see "the boys" and still just go on and on about them. If I could, I would take the other little flame, but oh boy do these two keep me busy. Am still working on pics for you. Oh, forgot, do you clean their ears with anything special or just a qtip and water? Have a great day. Susan
I know when I bring her to your home she is very comfortable because she is calm and she gets in the little bed you have and makes herself right at home. So, I know when she visits your home she feels safe. Shawni
You beat me to it! I had been meaning to write all last week! The kitten (yet to be named!) is unbelievable. I was worried last Sunday evening wondering how I could ever love another kitty after losing "Bob" and my beloved "Elliot". Well...by the next morning, he captured my heart! It is a tribute to you Darlene, that he is such a loving, well adjusted kitty. You're right he loves water! He is such a joy and filled with so much love and curiosity. He loves watching the myriad of birds, which I have an abundance of on my deck overlooking the sea. He is eating very well and growing more beautiful everyday. He is quickly becoming very spoiled! I just love him. My fiance and his kids love him as well. I will send you pic's this week. You will be amazed at how much he has grown! He thinks he is much bigger than he is of course. Also, he is extremely smart - can't fool him with anything. He also loves to be combed and fussed over - very demanding - which I absolutely adore. That woman was wrong; he is quite the lap kitty when he is tired of playing! She just did not take him because he was meant for me!

I believe everything happens for a reason, and he was truly sent to me to mend my broken heart!

With warm regards,
Hi Darlene!
Our cats are terrific! We just get the biggest kick out of all their constant play.
Kona, the flame-point male, won't sleep at night unless he has his body under the sheet and his head on a pillow. Are we over indulgent or what!!!! Of course he gets his way!!! Hula, the tortie, has now decided she MUST sleep between our pillows at night. Sparky, the red, has to sleep on top of someone's legs or feet or he isn't happy. Twink, the blue-point, is only happy if he is at the bottom of the bed. Our sleeping patterns are completely interrupted but it must be worth it because we have 4 very happy cats!

Kona likes to eat his food with his paws. He scoops it out of the dish and eats it like M & Ms out of his paw. He also is a complete neat boy who refuses to eat if there is any spillage on the floor from the other cats.

We're getting ready to go to France for several weeks in the Fall and are dreading leaving our 4 little babies. We have a good pet sitter who will come in twice a day and refresh their food, brush them and play with them. I'm sure we'll be making several international phone calls to check on them!

I'm watching Hula and Sparky playing together. Hula finally got her wish--Sparky is her "boyfriend" or as close as he can be to her boyfriend for a neutered cat. Hula mutters (doesn't really meow but just makes funny little muttering noises). She is so busy flirting with Sparky and has him all wound up looking at her upside down.

All of our cats are sleeping in the sinks throughout the house. When we can't find them we go looking in all the bathrooms and find them in the sink.
If anything ever happened to all of us, would you be willing to find good homes for our 4 cats? We kind of think They'd be happier together but at least in pairs if nothing else. Let us know...it isn't a job we'd give just anyone but know you have very high standards. Obviously we love your cats/our cats. They are the BEST!!!!! Wes keeps telling me he wants 2 more when we retire so that would make 6...I think that might be 2 more than we could ever possibly handle adequately!

Anyway, let us know if you'd be willing to find homes for our cats...we kind of think about those things when we're traveling internationally with all the terrorists, etc.
Hope all is well with your family! Thank you for making our lives a great deal happier!

P.S. We were at a seminar today by a neuro-psychiatrist and a pediatric neurologist and had to laugh---one of the first research studies he brought up was there was a ratio for the more cats people had in their home for the greater dysfunctional family they were. We think the opposite---the more cats, the more "functional" the family is! At least we find that true with your cats!!!!
Thanks again!
Hi Darlene!

Our cats' antics continue to amuse us and make life incredibly enjoyable. Sparky, the red Persian, has decided if he doesn't get his way he howls. Sometimes he will howl for a half hour or longer in the middle of the night! We gave up ignoring him, howling back, calling him, etc. It just prolonged the agony of his melodious voice at 2 a.m. Now someone just volunteers and hauls him to bed. Then he is finally purrfectly happy! He does this when one of us calls home--he starts to howl and cry until we get his attention diverted. He has MAJOR control issues!!!! We had talked with the vet about it...she had said she thought the 2 kittens might help. It did for a short time when his attention was so diverted by the little guys. Now, he has adjusted to them so he just doesn't care for us coming and going or sleeping!
Sparky will actually go back to our bed and begin howling when he BELIEVES we should go to bed! If we're up unusually late with company, our cat alarm automatically goes off at the EXACT time we would USUALLY go to bed....anyway, you get the picture of his very unique personality!!!!

How do cats have an "inborn" time clock? Have you noticed that about your cats? Ours know when they get fed, what time to expect different family members home, and even make changes for weekends or days off. Rather amazing!

Do your Persians like to sleep on their back? Our cats all sleep that way the vast majority of the time with their entire tummies exposed and legs up in the air. They look like mini, furry humans sleeping on their back. Kona, the flame-point even props his back up on the couch and sits there like he should be sipping a soda.

We have found the two little guys, Kona, the flame-point, and Hula, the only girl, both like to watch TV. They will sit and watch it for 10 or 15 minutes and finally reach up to touch something on the screen. Kona has the mildest temperament...nothing seems to ever disturb him. Hula is the "fun girl" and always trying to be in the thick of whatever is happening.

Twink, the blue-point, KNOWS he is a show stopper! He cruises into and out of our lives at his whim. He now only likes salmon to eat. He has decided duck isn't for him. Duck was what the Vet had put him on to help him with all of his lip swelling allergies. Since he has started on his salmon, we haven't had a single allergy problem. The Vet had mentioned if we returned cats to their "roots" they wouldn't be eating cows, sheep, deep sea fishing, etc. So, that is where the new theory came for Twink to eat his duck and return to his "roots"....oh, well, I guess he must have lived by the sea in a former life!!!

Thank you for being the Godmother to our 4 beautiful babies. We will leave it with our attorney so everything is taken care of with them. Our attorney had mentioned earlier he would drop them off at the pound because they were "just cats"...obviously not a cat lover there! We were all aghast!

We looked at the robot sandbox but were afraid to purchase it since change doesn't always go well with Twink, the blue-point. We're hoping they have it at the OC Home Show in August and plan on looking at it there. They usually have a large pet section. It is scheduled around mid-August. Thanks for the suggestion!

We're leaving in September for France. We've enjoyed looking at the cats from all the European countries we've visited. They each have their own "look". It will be interesting to see if French cats "have more style" and live with "more class" since most French humans believe they do.

Hope all is well with your family!
Hi Darlene!

We have thought about writing you several times and have always been interrupted by one thing or another. Thank you for your e-mail this morning! The kitten is beautiful!
Our kittens are doing great! In fact, the male/flame-point is going in for his neutering today. They both are cats who want to be with people continuously. The female tortie had a difficult time learning to not sleep on our faces at night!
It was very rough for 2 weeks with the older cats. As Wes would say, "We have entered 'cat hell'!!! Now we actually look at each other and laugh...we didn't think they would ever get along so well and actually love each other. Twink, the Himalayan, was the worst! He actually projectile vomited EVERY TIME a kitten would cross his path. He was even projectile vomiting from the top of the condo when they were down below. The Red male did a great deal of hissing and spitting. There were a few incidents but now we are all actually trying to crowd into the same tier of the condo--2 and 3 at a time. Then we had the incidents with the litter box and the kittens' food. The grown cats would try to eat all of the kittens' food as rapidly as they could..then move on to their own food. Perhaps hoping the kittens would just give up and leave if they didn't have any food? Twink decided the kitten's litter box was his new, private litter box and didn't want anyone else to use it. We battled that for several days. It wasn't as if they didn't have enough litter boxes to choose from with 4!!!! We've also had several battles over the little baskets for the kittens to curl up inside. Twink and Sparky both decided they were "kitten-size" again and tried to cram their huge bodies into the tiny baskets. We actually thought Twink was going to snap his spine he had wedged himself in so tight!
The little girl, Hula, does the cutest little bunny hop on her 2 hind legs and kind of dances around...thus her name...Hula. She is great fun and loved by all the boys! She likes to pull a rope back and forth through the house and the boys all chase her and the rope! She is very smart and loves to fetch balls, drop them on your foot and have you throw them again. She follows me through the house to see everything that is going on all the time. Sometimes I tell her, "Hula, go take a nap! It is time!" She does! The flame-point male likes to be held and petted when he is in the mood. He follows Hula everywhere. Sparky, our big red, is now shepherding all the kittens around the house where he sees fit. Our burglar alarm accidentally got set off. We weren't sure what the kittens were going to do when we got inside. Here was Sparky...he had herded the kittens under Melissa's bed and was guarding them until he saw it was us.
Thank you again for great kittens! I will send you pictures as soon as I have a free minute. Our flame-point male, Kona, looks much like the female. They still look so much alike it is difficult to tell them apart. I think your female has longer fur. Hula looks much like Shakira. Happy Holidays and great health to your husband! We have kept him in our prayers. Did you find a buyer for the other tortie?
Hi Darlene!

The kittens are doing great. We are all finally getting along with each other with no vomiting, no projectile vomiting, no hissing, no fighting, no chasing, etc. We have even survived Hula coming into heat before we got her to the Vet. That was a horrible experience! With all the males neutered we had cats scratching on our front door trying to get inside the house, Hula chasing Sparky, the red, (her #1 chosen mate). It got so bad Sparky actually did a stand-off with Hula--Sparky on the dining room table and Hula trying to get him interested and even mounting him to "show" him what to do! She, Hula, was so frustrated after about 36 hours of chasing poor Sparky all around the house she next chose Twink, the blue point, as her #2 man of choice! Twink started doing runs back and forth through the house with Hula chasing behind. We were afraid his allergies were going to flare up and he'd end up with a swollen lip! We finally got the Vet to take Hula a day early and keep her isolated so we could all get some rest. There was so much yowling and howling and running across our beds at night it had turned into a cat and human torture chamber! Sparky slept on my head a good chunk of the night to try to ward off Hula. He still looks at her with complete distaste and gives her a little bat with his paw if she comes to close. He hasn't forgotten! Kona, the flame point, actually tried to calm Hula down and would go and rest beside her and try to put his arm on her to settle her down. Anyway, we survived Hula's "hot spell"! The vet and all of the assistants were laughing at us so hard and said they thought they could raise the price for her spaying to triple the usual costs and we'd still do it!!!
The personalities of all 4 cats are absolutely wonderful. Each has their own distinct and unique personality. Sparky is still the leader of the "pack". Kona is fast moving onto the turf and we figure we'll have a turf war before long. Kona has grown so fast he is now bigger than Sparky. He is much longer in the body and just a solid, muscular cat. Hula is still very tiny, we call her our "mini girl". She is a real lap cat. Kona loves to come to bed at night and has to sleep under the covers with his head on the pillow like a person. Twinkle still knows he is the best looking (at least in his mind!). We call him the phantom when he goes flying through the house from one end to the other because he looks like a little white, twinkle-toed phantom. Sparky still cries if he doesn't feel he has control of a situation. When one of us leaves or doesn't get in on "his time", he'll put out the "cry" that he isn't happy. When our daughter stays up late with her boyfriend, he cries in the hallway for her to come to bed NOW! They are all so cute!

The vacuum is the Dyson Animal, it is purple. I got mine for $499 at Best Buy on sale with an extended warranty. It still sucks up a canister and a half of cat fur EVERY week. That was during the winter...I have no idea what it will be sucking up during the shedding season. We did discover that fur does start to get stuck on the roller so we periodically clean it off to make sure the roller works properly. It has still been zero maintenance and we've had it for over a year. The other vacuums were going in about every 3-4 months and needed new ball bearings.

We hope all is continued well with you and all of yours. We have kept your husband in our prayers for continued good health! I am going to attempt to send pictures but I'm still not too great at doing that so they may all come separately!

Thanks again for the "world's greatest cats"! We love ours!

Wes & Sonja
Kahlua also follows us everywhere we go, she is most likely to end up with the person who happens to go to one of her favorite spots - our desk! She loves laying on it, in front of the computer monitor while we listen to music - I think she actually likes the music, she stares at the screen and follows and bats at the cursor - its funny to watch. She doesn't seem to mind if there's books, magazines or paper - she's just lay right on top. She is such a wonderful little companion!

Thanks Darlene, talk to you later, Patsy
Hi There Darlene,
Oh how I have been enjoying my new Tortie kitten from Angela's litter!!! I named her CoCo Carmel Chanel and my husband and I are over the moon about her. CoCo is the most loving, affectionate kitten I have ever seen. She is never happier than when she can lay in my arms @ night and she sleeps between Bill and I. CoCo and KeKe, my Blue Point female are slow to bond just now, however I have seen them playing together now again. I'm sure in time they will become girlfriends :-)

Just wanted you to know I could not love her any more than I do today, even if she were Red and Male. Thanks again Darlene for keeping me in your thoughts. I also Thank Angela for the good care she took of CoCo prior to her coming home to us. Angela took our picture the day I picked her up, Hope I didn't look too scary to post on your sight...

May you and your Family enjoy a wonderful, blessed Christmas and a Happy,
Healthy New Year!

Fondly,

Connie
Dear Darlene;

I wanted to send you a note to let you know that your baby kitty is doing great. We decided that "Sasha" did not suit her personality, and have named her "Sofie". We are all just in love with her! She is a darling bundle of energy and seems to be adjusting well to her new family. I am not getting much work done around the house unless she is napping: if I go to do anything, she cries and rubs against my legs until play with her. It is like having a toddler around the house again! A friend is coming over today to take some shots of us for our Christmas card, so I will send you a copy.

Thank you for welcoming me into you home and for sharing such a lovely bundle of joy with us. Rest assures that she is well cared for and very loved.

Sincerely, Suzie
I saw the new photos of the kittens you put up on your site; I'm getting so excited for the day to come where I can meet one of your kittens!

It was so nice talking with you yesterday. It must have been fate that I found someone like you raising kittens with so much love! It surely is a bonus how wonderful your kittens have turned out! I've spent the last few days going through site after site looking at catteries, and truly yours has stood out above the rest! I've actually found a few in locations way closer to home, but none of them even came close to what I've found from yours.

I spent hours yesterday going through the photos and commentary on your site. Layne and Chloe on my lap going through ooooooh's and aaaaaah's on each one! Chloe said you look beautiful and you had a pretty necklace in the photo of you in your royal blue shirt. I think we are all crazy about how adorable Mercedes is and was as a kitten. Some of those photos are just priceless!

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you again for all the time you spent answering all of my questions over the phone. I know that I have made the right decision in getting the kitten that I've always dreamed about from you.

Sincerely,
Haileigh
Thanks for the tip. We just love her...she is so precious!! The girls have hardly put her down...they are keeping track who has held her the most. I keep telling them to let her down so she can just explore. Our little Shi Tzu has been very welcoming even as Bella hissed at her when they were trying to figure each other out. I think she is doing okay...she went to sleep with Scarlett tonight, I didn't let her last night because the poor little thing never used her litter box to go to the bathroom yesterday she only would lay in it so I was a little nervous about what she might do during the night so I had her sleep in the laundry room where I have her litter box and she cried all night but she had used the litter box this morning and seems to be getting comfortable with us and her new home now.

Take care!
Tonya
My little guy is quite the little man and I am enjoying him. He is already very spoiled but is learning NO---so he lets me think.

I plan on getting another baby from you when I get myself moved to Las Vegas and settled....I'll try not to take 4 hours to decide this time.
Thank you for being so patient with me. I just wanted to have the right kitten as it is a lifetime committment and I feel like I made the right choice---just wish I could have afforded both him and his little sister as she was a little sweety as well.

You take care
Thank you
Angie
I'm so glad your last kitten has a new home. I couldn't be happier with my Teddy. His sweet little spirit has softened the blow of losing our Sammy, and my Persian Lucy isn't searching the house for him anymore. Instead she's playing and being so much more active than she was living with a 10yr old cat. Having Teddy has been great for both of us.
Bella is doing great; she is so spunky and cute. I still cannot believe that no one wanted her with that personality and look. I love how white her coat is against the dark brown on her face. Her little mouth is pure white on one side and dark on the other which gives her so much character. She is a jewel. She sits on the vanity every morning when I get ready and she follows me downstairs when I leave. At night when I get home she sits on my lap to watch TV. My husband is really attached to her too. She is like a velcro kitty when I'm home she follows me everywhere. She does have a favorite spot to sleep in the guest bathroom sink, she curls up in a little ball and has sweet kitty dreams. Thank you for this little sweetheart.

Take Care,
Shawni
HI I WAS JUST CURIOUS AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO THE 100TH TIME WITH MY LAP BABY IF YOU HAD ANY LEFT? HOW MUCH? AND ANY RECENT PHOTOS. I ADORE MY BABY SO MUCH HE SAT ON MY LAP AND WATCHED THE MOVIES. HE IS THE PERFECT CAT FOR ME HE LOVES AND LOVES, HE WAITS FOR ME TO GET HOME FROM WORK AND IF IM LATE HE GETS WORRIED HE IS THE BEST CAT IN THE WORLD AND HE MIGHT BE A BIT SPOILED TOO. HE IS ON MY LAP AS WRITE THIS HE HOLDS ON TO MY ARM AS I TYPE I ADORE HIM, THANK YOU FOR MY BEST FRIEND.
Otis has taught Yogi how to be silly too. Otis is bigger than Yogi but Yogi just attacks and tried to bully him every morning after breakfast and grooming. They have a great time together. Naturally, Yogi thinks Otis "P" is his mom!
We saw my Mom's two cats that we got from you in June of 2004 when we were back in PA over Memorial Day. She has a third seal point Himi, but yours are by far the best of the 3 in so many ways, including personality.

They are both living the good life, trust me!

Rob
You are right, kittens do have a way of making you forget your troubles. I can feel my blood pressure go down as soon as I pick her up and hold her. My family loves her too. But then, who wouldn't?
We just got back from a week's vacation, and returned to our darling Bruno -- he is the love of our lives! We couldn't ask for a better member of our family.
Best, Aimee
We would not give him up for the world. You produce the best cats--do you put something in the food to make them so lovable??
